WHEN ASSESSING DAMAGE AND CAUSE, EXPERIENCE MATTERS!
Capt. Ken Henry, AMS, IIMS, IAAI
Marine Surveyor and Consultant
We have performed numerous insurance claims for insurance companies, attorneys,
marinas, and boat owners for many years. Ken is highly skilled in determining cause and estimating cost of repairs. His knowledge of boat building gives him an added dimension in understanding how the construction of the hull, either being metal or fiberglass, can be affected by sustained damage.
Our report gives a thorough description of the damage sustained to the boat, interviews of all parties involved, evaluation, and estimate of repairs.
We have conducted insurance claims on boats damaged when the weight of the snow caused the shed roof to collapse, electronics blown off of the hard top, seizing of engines, boats and piers damaged from a heavy wake from a passing vessel, boats sinking, lightning strikes, fork lift damage, damaged sailboat rigging, etc.
READ WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING
I should have mentioned when I called earlier today that this is a super report. Part of my job every day is to produce inspection notes (reports), usually on products that have been involved in accidents. I've always been proud of the reports that our department turns out. Now I have a new standard to shoot for.
Thank again, Steve
ADVANCED MARINE FIRE INVESTIGATION COURSE
Ken attended the advanced marine fire investigation course at Middlesex County Fire Academy in Sayreville, New Jersey. Divided into teams, each team was given a boat fire accident to investigate and determine cause. Ken's team won first place. The pictures are of the boat Ken investigated and determined cause of fire. It was caused by the engine water intake seacock not open. Ken is a member of the International Association of Arson Investigations.
